Yesterday, it was my job to capture this sweet smile. Turns out that was a lot easier said than done. No matter how early you start, it doesn’t take very long for New Orleans heat and humidity to make all involved (especially the adults) longing for nap time!
After an hour of enduring the sweltering heat, Ella’s mom had the genius idea of visiting the wading pool in Storyland in City Park. She told me that Storyland had a lot of significance to her as a place where she spent a lot of time in her own childhood …. sweet! So we spent the rest of the morning making memories! I observed a ton of love through my lens as I watched Mark and Sandy interact with their daughter … there isn’t anything they wouldn’t do for her, including dance. Let’s call this one “this is what happens when mom and dad met in dance class.” Ella looks unimpressed!
And then suddenly Ella decided we were all having fun. “WOW!”, she said, and my heart melted. After a stress-filled week wrought with mind-numbing business decisions, I stopped for a second and thought … this is why I do this job … and I said “WOW!” to myself … or I may have even said it out loud … watch and see:
Another memory captured! Yep … being able to deliver an image like this to a family is about as good as it gets! And you know what I say, right? “WOW!” Can’t wait to show them the rest!
