Over the last three years I have participated in an online forum with a group of 6 amazing women that I met when I attended WPPIU (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International University), a 2-day workshop that focuses on best practices for emerging photographers. We were all in about the same place in our business at the time we met, and our friendships have grown along with our businesses and skills. Their encouragement and support have been a huge factor in my growth and I will be forever grateful for the relationship we share. This year, we have decided to collaborate in a blog circle, where we each work on a selected topic for the month, then blog it and connect to each others’ blog posts. I anticipate growing creatively, as we encourage and challenge one another! I hope you will follow along to see how this progresses for me, and to get to know them as well.
We decided to start 2014 by showcasing our favorite 13 of 2013. I know that I have already posted my year in review, but I’ve gone and culled that down even further to my 13 absolute favorites. It was hard! But I can also tell you that the ability to edit and cull your own work is a valuable skill that will help insure that you are only showing the best of your best. My valuable takeaway is that when I look at these 13 images as a collection, I’m beginning to see my style emerge. I see interaction and connectedness in nearly every one of them … I see stories told and I see success in my quest to always find real emotion. I’ve always said that moments matter and moments that tell stories … well they just rock! I’m looking forward to see what 2014 brings and to see how far we can push each other with our blog circle!
